# Delete an empty task stage

`DELETE /v1/task-stages/:stageId`

Bitrix24 REST: `task.stages.delete`. Scope: `task`.

Returns 204 without a body. Missing stage: 404. A non-empty stage gives 409 STAGE_NOT_EMPTY (Bitrix24 NO_EMPTY); move tasks out first. Emptiness includes ALL tasks, including those invisible to this key. The first stage gives 409 STAGE_IS_SYSTEM (IS_SYSTEM).

**Deletion is irreversible.** Group stages require owner/moderator rights. Your own My Plan stages can also be deleted under these rules.

Writes require a READWRITE key. No automatic retry after timeout: reread the object before retrying. Bitrix24 permission refusals return 403; other business refusals return 422.
